Colossal Yes/The Good Fear album back by Rett Peek

Hunter over at Gold Robot Records sent us the following dates for the upcoming split 7″: “We tentatively have a digital release of July 6 and physical release of July 13.” The new song is called “Be Like Us”.

This record is the first entry in Gold Robot’s ongoing split series which pairs artists from different geographic regions together. Featured here are Colossal Yes (Oakland, California) and The Good Fear (Fayetteville, Arkansas). Artwork is provided by photographers from each region (Elise Irving from California, and Rett Peek from Arkansas).

Neither sleet, nor snow……

No 2 day spring blizzard could stop us from recording with Chris Moore at East Hall Studio in Fayetteville. Chris has a wealth of vintage gear and instruments, and we are very pleased with the sounds we obtained. We cant say enough good things about East Hall.

San Fran label Gold Robot Records has invited us to release one of the songs on a split 7″ record with labelmate Collosal Yes. It will take a few months to get everything pressed. Finally!, a vinyl release!

6 Tom Pettys Again and 4-evah

We will be performing as 6 Tom Pettys and the Heartbreaker (dont ask who the HB is, it doesnt make any sense, its just a name) again this Halloween in Fayetteville and Little Rock. The Fayetteville show will be an early Halloween show on Friday October 30 at Boom Boom Room on Dickson St. This is the 2nd annual Tom Petty Party, so come dressed as Tom Petty with us, and some day TP himself will surely hear about 300 people dressed like him in Arkansas.

The Little Rock show will be on Halloween night at White Water Tavern.

Both shows are with the Moving Front as REM!

Future Vinyl

We are talking with a new label in California to put out our first vinyl release. We hope to start recording a couple songs soon to release on 7″ and digitally later this year or early 2010. More details will follow when we solidify our plans, but we are getting excited…

Our previous album, Keep in Touch is now available on Itunes (and maybe emusic) thanks to Max Recordings. For now, it is only availble in digital format. Many find it to be our finest work, but we got some new stuff in the works.

We made a new video for “Dear Daniel”. If you are reading this then you probably already know that it is up on our main web page. We made it with the help of former founding tGF member and Little Rock photographer, Rett Peek. We took over 600 still images to make the photo-animation video. It was a bitch to edit, but we had a good time, and we were so happy with the outcome that we entered it in the Little Rock Film Festival. We arent holding our breath for any awards, but we look forward to attending and possibly playing a show at the festival. More updates about that later.

Six Tom Petties

This Halloween night (Oct 31), we’re dressing up and playing a cover show at Froggy’s here in Fayetteville along with a couple of other local bands.

We’re going as “Six Tom Petties” and will be playing a handful of Tom Petty tunes. The Memphis Pencils are covering the Kinks and Use Curtis will be offering a generous dose of Beatles covers.

Should be a good time. Stop by if you don’t have Halloween plans already. Or change your plans. It’s up to you, man.

If Fayetteville ain’t your thang, you can check out Six Tom Petties at White Water in Little Rock the following evening (Nov 1).

Show tonight at Club Froggy’s

Tonight should be a fun one. We’re playing at Club Froggy’s (formerly The Gypsy) which is the newest venue on Dickson St. They’ve only been open for a day or two we think so come on out and see what it’s like.

Also playing are Little Rock’s Damn Bullets and Fayetteville’s own Memphis Pencils. Both of these bands are awesome to the maxx so checkemout if ya can.
